Charlotte has practised as a barrister for 18 years. She began her career at the bar in London, before relocating to the south west. She works out of KBG Chambers, which has offices in Plymouth, Truro and Exeter. She is also an Associate Member of Deka Chambers in London. Since 2020, Charlotte has sat as a part time judge alongside her practice as a barrister.

She specialises in all areas of civil law with a particular focus on inquests, land disputes, landlord & tenant matters, personal injury, contractual & commercial matters, bankruptcy & insolvency, and licensing. She can be instructed to act in appeals and judicial review proceedings.
Charlotte can provide advice and representation at court. If she is available to do so, this can be provided on an urgent short notice basis.

Contractual Disputes

Charlotte has extensive experience in dealing with contractual disputes, including business to business and consumer to business matters. Charlotte is happy to provide representation at all levels, including small claims track hearings. She also has experience in disputes following the sale of businesses.
Charlotte has attended numerous mediations relating to contractual disputes and has extensive experiencing in resolving matters this way.
Landlord & Tenant
Have you been served a notice of eviction and have an upcoming court hearing? Are you a landlord bringing legal proceedings and need advice and representation?
Charlotte has experience in all areas of landlord & tenant disputes, including possession and disrepair proceedings. She has acted for tenants, private landlords and social housing providers. She can be instructed to attend hearings at short notice, subject to prior work commitments.
Boundary & Right of Way Disputes
Are you involved in a dispute with a neighbour over your boundary or a right of way?
Charlotte is regularly instructed in boundary dispute matters, appearing at injunction hearings as well as full trials. Charlotte is often instructed at early stages of litigation to provide tactical and pragmatic advice to both claimants and defendants. She can also deal with cases involving allegations of harassment from neighbours.
Charlotte can be instructed to attend mediations, and has extensive experience is resolving disputes this way.
Inquests
Are you a bereaved family member and need legal representation at an inquest? Have you been asked by a coroner to attend an inquest and give evidence?
Charlotte has significant experience in acting for interested parties at inquest hearings. She has represented families, local authorities, corporations, and other interested persons at multi-day hearings including under Article 2, with juries, and against KCs.
Charlotte accepts instructions at all stages of the inquest process, including attendance at pre-hearings. She has also provided written advices on appealing coroner’s decisions.
Licensing
Are you a licensed premises appealing a licensing condition? Are you a taxi driver who has had their licence suspended and has an upcoming court hearing?
Having represented applicants, the local authority, and the police, at numerous multi-day licensing hearings, Charlotte is an experienced advocate in this area. She can provide advice and representation from the initial committee stage, right through to final court hearings and appeals.
Charlotte has also acted in matters involving taxi licensing.
